“Take Out” Chest-of-Cases Concept by Klaus Aalto

sauma_case.jpg

The “Take Out” is a concept that replaces the drawers in a traditional chest-of-drawers with cases, the better to lug their contents around. While at first this may seem impractical for anyone other than globe-hopping super spies, the designer Klaus Aalto has pointed out how many things like tools and toys often need to be utilized one set at a time. On the other hand, you’d have to remove an entire case to rifle through it.

I’ve been looking for something like this for my workshop. The idea is to store my power drill plus all bits and accessories in one case, my reciprocating saw plus its various blades in another, my angle grinder plus its various discs in another, etc.

    Guess I should build one.

it needs to have extra drawers/cases, to fill the gap if one gets carried off and doesn’t come back.

Curver have made a similar toolbox drawer. At least I think it’s them, their homepage won’t work with my browser, it could be some other manufacturer.
