Burning Man Art Car for Bilking Moisture Farmers

Marc Merlin has a very nice write-up of his experiences at this year's Burning Man along with a heap of pictures, but I would have been remiss in my nerdly duties if I didn't share this picture he took of a particular art car.

I don't know how you'd otomatopiate Jawas, but let me assure you I tried. Let me give you my best Threepio instead: Oh my!

"otomatopiate" !!??

I guess you mean "onomatopiate" from the greek word "ὄνοματοποιεΐν" or "onomatopoeia" ... you can use the english word "echoism" instead, maybe that s more simple...

well, maybe you confused it with the word "ottoman"... but the turks are not talking Jawa-ish.

i confess: i m a smartass. kick me.

it's just that "onomatopoetry" is one of my favorite words ever (together with the concept of it) and I can not stand to see it mutilated like this.

I was just making up a word.

My brothers and I actually kinda solved this, for World-of-Warcraft-related reasons. The noise a Jawa makes is UTINNI!

What kind of junk are you trying to push on us?

-what about that blue one??

Actually, as Jamie has stated, it is "Utinni" which is a triumphal call to nearby Jawas that prey has been located.
Optionally this will be followed by "Song peetch alay!" which is a rallying cry to signal the other Jawas to converge on the prey.

Check out the Star Wars Galactic Phrase Book and Travel Guide's chapter 7 "Jawas Can Be Your Friends" for more info.

Hey, can anyone recommend a site that supports 3410 Nokia ring tone? Nokia forums weren't much help unfortunately.
I'm an IT guy but apparently I suck at cell phone tech. Heheh :)

My first car was a Ford Geo. Thing was a piece of junk.
Got me to point A to B so I guess that's all that matters. my current car is a chevy silverado. I
was lucky to get a good 60 second auto quote on that sucker so I'm happy with it. My dream
car is a Lamborghini Galllardo. Anyone see the new Reventon? Anyway what's your story?
