HTC Announces New Windows Mobile Smartphones

The average phone shopper may not know HTC by name, but they might know its suite of Windows-powered smartphones, sold under a variety of brands. HTC showed off its fall line-up today in London, including the “Touch Dual,” their second stab at a touch-based interface; the “S730,” [pictured] a somewhat generic model with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard; and the P6500, with a big ol’ 3.5-inch screen.

HTC phones can be bought outside of carrier contacts, should you choose, but most are sold in the U.S. via the carriers. I think they make great hardware, on the whole. Too bad Windows Mobile is an operating system without a direction, sailing haphazardly toward the land of Turd.
