Custom Lawn Choppers

Bike-Mower-2.jpg

Treehugger has assembled a delightful gallery of custom riding lawnmowers. And because it's El Hug, you know they have to be powered by humans. I think reel mowers are great, but I can't help but think attaching one to a bicycle would make them more difficult to use, not easier. But who knows!

It would probably make it easier if the pedals also drove the reel, but as that one is set up, I can't imagine it working well..

As first seen in Victor Papanek's "How Things Don't Work."

The reel on such a mower is driven by its wheels; as long as you propel it forward, that's no problem.

However, given a bicycle with two front wheels and a non-vertical head-tube, turning will be impossible.

I just want to say that is one of the straight up best dudes I've ever seen in my life.
