Rule 34: Portal Edition
I don't have a source (get it?) for this, but I'm guessing it's from 4Chan.
I beat the first-person puzzle game Portal last night. (That's where these two "characters," the "Weighted Companion Cube" and "a turret" are from.) Hands-down the best last level and ending in any videogame I've ever played. I was beaming.
As someone of the Quarter to Three forums mentioned, Valve must create Weighted Companion Cubes for sale immediately.

Shit, I've been playing TF2 and Halo3 so much that I forgot this was released. I know what I'll be playing while watching the Rockies game tonight!
Someone over at the PA forums received a reply from Gabe Newell saying that Companion Cube plushies are already underway. I'd link the post, but the Portal discussions over there are going incredibly fast.
I absolutely agree. I got to play it through in ~2 hours at a friends house lastnight and I too was beaming.
*AWESOME* game.
If there was some way, some how, that I could take valve out for beers - I would do it. Flat out. I just wish that there was a way I could approach them that wouldn't make me look like a stereotypical otaku.
wow...much as I enjoyed Portal (and I finished it in abotu 2hrs as well), it felt like a concept test more than a fully fleshed out game. Predictable and the last level was relatively easy IMHO. While the voice and audio design was awesome, I couldn't walk away without feeling like it just wasn't "done" somehow. Awesome conceptually though, playing HL2:Ep2 now to get to the Aperture/Combine tie-in I keep hearing about.
You *did* escape the fire, right? 'Cause the last level continues...
Oh yeah. I definitely got past the fire.
Just finished it. Worth it for the song alone.
THE Best video game song. Ever!! That guy should get a medal.
Ha. That didn't take long.
Valve have confirmed there'll be a Companion Cube toy before Christmas. Story; http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=173586
If you're done with proper portal, try the flash version:

Hahahahaha, I drew that picture. I'm awesome.
In case there is any doubt GlaDOS does in fact refer to the weighted companion cube as "him".
Wow, that flash game is actually a pretty entertaining 2d clone of the original.
