The integrated control screen in the dashboard of the upcoming Nissan GT-R was developed in conjunction with Polyphony Digital, whose work you may know as the creators of the Gran Turismo series of racing games on the Sony Playstation.

Every time I look at that car I just sigh. What a machine!

The original Nissan Skyline GT-R had a similar display. It's not that impressive now, but it was the height of technology at the time. I put the GT-R at the top of the list of cars that need to be made street legal in the US. It's a travesty that we can't get them over here.

before you get as excited as I did about the possibilities of what a "carwings" button would do, it's not what you think.

(you were of course thinking like me that it was the Nissan version of Knight Industries Turbo Boost (tm) technology, right? I'm still waiting to get Turbo Boost (tm) in a production car.)

Carwings is apparently a bluetooth/cellphone integration system for high end Nissans. Clearly a product with a name too cool for what it is.

@jrishel: I totally thought about Super Pursuit Mode when I saw that button, hehe!

I live over here in Japan, and the most disappointing thing about Skylines is the dorks who drive them. It's put me off ever wanting one myself, despite them being beautiful and awesome.
