Ramis, Murray, and Aykroyd Back for Ghostbusters Videogame

Holy smokes:

Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are getting back together and revisiting their roles to make a sequel to Ghostbusters 1 and 2 – in video-game form, and we’ve got the first details. Both Aykroyd and Ramis are teaming up for scriptwriting duties and are going far beyond just the typical licensed add-your-voice-to-the-game-you-had-nothing-to-do-with formula. And no, this has nothing to do with the Ghostbusters Zootfly video demonstration that floated around the internet in January.

I wonder if this will have anything to do with Aykroyd's infamous Ghostbusters go to hell script? Actually, who cares—more Ghostbusters!

Let's say this Twinkie represents the normal amount of psychokinetic excitement I have about a videogame...

Are Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, Sigourney Weaver and/or Annie Potts involved? I'd really love if this turned into a complete original cast reunion. (I'd love it more if they got over themselves, got to a gym and made an effing GB3, but I'll take what I can get.)

Actually, seeing that still linked above I'm less psyched than I was. Why retread the high points of the movies? Are you saying that with nearly the entire original cast on board they'll waste the opportunity with what amounts to a "best of" album? Cripes, at least recycle a plotline from one of the cartoons.

The rehash amounts to more of the opening of the game - using Slimer and the Library Ghost from the first movie as a natural tutorial, while getting a lot of fanboy action points out of the way very early.

Speaking of fanboy, I'm keeping track of all new info at my site, for anyone interested.
