Endo: Strong, Simple Fridge Magnet

endo.jpg

The idea behind the "Endo" fridge magnets is simple enough: put a powerful neodymium magnet inside a fulcrumed case. Rock the Endo back to unclip it; release to snap it back. Each clip can hold up to one pound of weight (varying by how wide the item held, I'm sure). And they're cheap, too, at just $10 for 3, available in a variety of colors.

Is that a hard drive ipod hanging from a super strong magnet? hmm..

I use hard drive magnets with loops of wire twisted through their mounting holes. Pulling up on one side of the loop makes it easy to remove.

Umm teamrice there are significantly stronger magnets inside the hard drive.

Plus as the magnetic strength dissipates at the square of the radius you would have to be very close to the platter to do anything
