This cute little digital microscope only goes up to 40x power, but displays its peerings on a built-in 3.5-inch LCD screen, which can also be used to snap photos and video. It doesn’t have the charm of a traditional microscope, but I can see people getting a kick out of being able to easily share their discoveries on the web.
The 44340 model from Celestron will be available in February for $300.

The Celestron site says it does 40x to 400x – on par with most school-grade microscopes, though the 2 megapixel camera seems a little skimpy.
