Modern Mechanix Round-Up

Today on Modern Mechanix we looked at a super dog that follows orders given over a radio set to do things like turn off a faucet or fire a gun. Have a problem with kids hitching a ride on your car? Electrocute them. Don’t have electricity but want neat clothes? Try this gas powered iron. I’m not sure why roller blades with tank treads never caught on. We also look at a weird ad for an electron microscope and a lengthy article that details the process for creating a conductor’s wand.

Sunday we looked at a laundry service for dolls, the origin of the automobile cup holder, a burger joint that uses luggable walkie talkies to speed service, a sail for bikes that makes you go fast, but makes it impossible to see where you’re going, a frankencamera, and a piece about all about firemen called “Heroes of the Fireline“.

On Saturday we had a transparent rubber pickle pouch, a portable fire escape device, a combination flash-light, telegraph, telephone, and a very scary looking dummy for testing electric blankets. We also learned how photographic film was made in 1940.
