Morning Tech Deals Highlights

• Laptop – Dell XPS M1330 Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz 13" Laptop for $900, shipped. [Dealnews]

• Videogame – Amazon is taking pre-orders for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for $40. I think that'll be the MSRP of the game, but still, it's coming. PS3 only. [Dealnews]

• iPod Dock – Today's Woot! is the JBL Radial Speaker Dock for iPod for $125, shipped.

The XPS M1330 is a 13.3" laptop, not a 15" (Dealnews got this wrong too). $900 isn't a bad deal although it's part of the range that has allegedly delivered shocks to owners due to bad power supplies and aluminium casings.

That's the machine that appeared just days before the Macbook Air did, very thin and the same sort of size screen, the expected peripherals, yet half the price.

I highly doubt that the full version of GT5 will retail for $40. Most next-gen games go for $50-60 when new, and PS3 games sometimes even fetch a premium over that.

Yeah, but Prologue isn't a full game. It's more of a preview. A taster.

I'll fix the 15-inch typo. Don't know why I missed that. I've wanted a 1330 for a while. (But will resist, because I don't need one.)
