2008 Plagiarius Award Winners Announced

2008_01_l.jpg

The “Plagiarius Awards” are given to the companies who make the most faithful unauthorized reproductions of gear they did not design. And while China has its fair share of knock-offs represented, many of the thieving companies operate in the same country as the original. The whole awards page is like a tasting menu for IP lawyers.

Plagiarius Award winners are not given an actual trophy, but simply given general specifications and relative heft.

Goodness gracious – someone needs to protect us from the illegal dissemination of overdesigned fripperous baubles! The gall! The frippery!

    Lol@#1

“Fripperous” and “frippery” have just re-entered my daily vocabulary.

I think the “trophy” ranks among the Totally Awesome.

Expect more, 3d printing is getting cheaper and cheaper.

It’s not plagiarism, it’s convergent evolution!

How much for that other one?

  6. StephenF says:

I think you meant to say “many of the thieving companies operate in the same *country* as the original.” Operating in the same company is called “stealing from your employer and selling them on EBay.”

Do you ever fucking proof your posts? Really, your writing is embarrassing, if not incompetent.

I transposed one word. I’d feel bad but it’s good to know irked you enough to make a prickish comment. Enjoy your rage!
