Brooklyn Superhero Supply

On the way up to buy a videogame at my local Gamestop today, I stopped by the Brooklyn Superhero Supply, another fund raising retail outlet from 826 Valencia, the same folks who just opened up the Echo Park Time Travel Shop in LA. It's a little crowded (like most shops in Brooklyn), but it's always fun to take a look at the gear and costumes on display.

'Brooklyn Superhero Supply' makes me think Jonathan Lethem-y things.
I can't believe Joel Johnson supports that bottom-feeding retailer, Gamestop. And I used to think he was such a cool guy.
Just two photos? Is there a link missing? (Well, there's a link to the map-it thingie, but no Flickr group or what-not.)
Malgam, where else do you go for $10 last-generation console games when you're jonesing for a different game today??
Joel's not cool, he's just suffering from awesomeitis.
@JENNFRANK
It should make you think of Lethem. 826 Valencia is a neat organization that helps kids learn to write.

Why can't some superhero come and smash that microsoft mobile widget thingie to smithereens?
@clothingoptional
While 826 Valencia came first, technically, Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. should make you think of 826NYC. Of course, if you aren't living anywhere near either, perhaps my post will help suggest people find out about 826 National.
2 brooklyn posts in the last few days! nice joel! keep it up.

Shouldn't the entrance door be on the third floor or guarded by a foyer full of angry killer bees? You know, make entry into the store just a tad difficult so as to keep the non-Superhero riff raff from just strolling in off the street to browse and take up floor space?
@clothingoptional That did occur to me, too, if only because Eggers has also done more than his share to publish Lethem-y things. The teaching-kids thing is OK too.
