Chinese-Made 'Hillbilly' Prank Teeth Recalled for Excessive Lead

HillbillyTeeth.jpgUPI reports:
The CPSC said the importer, Funtastic of Houston, initiated the recall because gray surface paint on the teeth was found to contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.
I am picking and frowning.

At this point anybody stupid enough to put anything made in China into their mouth deserves all the lead-y goodness they get!

Wow. I guess I just always figured that something you get for free from Chuck E Cheese's that you put in your mouth would be safe, you know?

#2: you do realize though, that most baby toys, including teething rings, are likely to come from China too? Also, chances are you may have cups, spoons, and/or other objects also from China that go into your mouth. Hooray for cheap (and often questionable) factories!

How come no one gets all sandy-vaginaed when stereotypical, culturally elitist comments or jokes are directed at southerners? If these were 'authentic jap buck teeth', 'down home pickaninny lips', or a 'novelty plastic jew nose' would this be an acceptable product (with or without lead)? Would #5 have made a comment at all? Not trying to get all p.c., but really, why is this o.k.?
