Thanks for the irritating robot trashcan, Japan!

The Push-Kun is a robotic quadruped trashcan that tells jokes, plays drum rolls on its tin belly and waddles around your house being irritating until you order it to actually try eating some garbage, at which point, it spectacularly fails. There's also a passing resemblance to Homestar Runner. Created by Osaka-based Robot Force, the Push-Kun was an official entrant in the Baka RoboCup, which is basically Japan's Robot Special Olympics. I can't believe it didn't take home the Gold.

Is it just me, or does that thing remind you of Homestar?

It's a quadruped robot. How would YOU like to eat trash as you primary function when you're capable of doing other fun things like annoying people?

Yeah, I think I'd probably spend more time whacking it with a golf club than letting it clean my kitchen.

Gotta say, though - John, I think I figured out why your posts just don't seem to gel quite right with the site.

I think you're trying too hard to be funny, and not enough to have fun - the post about the blind and the internet was obviously interesting to you, and it was really good! This and some of the others you posted today just felt like you're trying to force it a bit.

Random opinion, doesn't matter much...just something that's kinda been at the back end of my head since you started this week and crystalized for me when I read this post.

Just relax! We're all here to enjoy it.

Actually I found the fact that I laughed out loud whilst reading the synopsis quite a positive experience, and it drew me into watching the video :)
