So much for riding to sanctuary.
Maybe that friendly looking robot can help…

I guess this means in 15 years or so we’ll see photos just like this but with Segways instead >:D

Oh gods, my pack-rat instincts kicked in bigtime when I saw that. It’s begging to be rescued…

(I can’t help it. I’s a child of the space age. If it looks like a rocket ship, I’m hooked.)

Wow, I didn’t know what this was but the photo caption said that it was a Sinclair C5.

Cool concept (especially now with oil prices rising), but it doesn’t look like it holds enough to take it to the grocery store and it’s so low to the ground that I’d be afraid to take it on a road with any real traffic on it.

Obviously, correcting either problem would probably eliminate one of the main advantages – that it could be driven without a drivers license in the UK.

Was this ever advertised/sold in the US?

The Master Chief has to be around here somewhere…

I agree with you Technogeek. I saw that and all I could think of doing was taking it home and holding it until it knew everything was all right.

  6. wubwub says:

I don’t even know what it is, but I want it!

How could someone throw out something that looks so cool??

  7. Anonymous says:

Wow, that could be the most awesome BigWheel ever…

  8. Rob Beschizza says:

The C5, with a modern battery and various usability improvements, could be a hit today. The design, like a lot of Sir Clive’s stuff, is bizarrely timeless and contemporary.

  9. dculberson says:

Definitely. Even covered in moss, it looks like it’s from the future. Doc must have put it in a barn, but the barn collapsed, sparing the C5 but exposing it to the elements.

  10. Clay says:

Ok, now this is kind of depressing. Realizing that the future actually could have looked like Syd Mead, but the future didn’t sell and people just made fun of it.

Maybe the Aptera can still save us.

Even though it’s abandoned it still looks pretty darn cool.
