Multitouch Missile Command

Steve Mason's implementation of Atari's classic game runs on an 8x4' display and allows one to basketfuls of warheads at a time.

I wrote a Missile Command clone for the multi-touch wall at Obscura Digital. Just like the original, except you can fire by touching the wall with your fingers. Save the Golden Gate Bridge from ICBMs. Fun for the whole family!

It's incredible to watch, making the already-frenetic original look like a cakewalk. Missile Command meets bullet hell:

Looks like fun, but these guys demonstrate how it's not much of a challenge if you can just sweep your fingers across the screen to create a missile defense shield. Somewhere, Ronald Reagan is laughing, spitting up a few grubs and dirt.

Agreeing with License Farm, moving fingers across the wall is too easy. It does look like fun though. I was a dedicated missile commander in college days, and the best part of the game was that giant trackball.

If it only shoots at a particular rate, that would force a little more strategy, right?

Note that this version doesn't appear to have limited missiles, nor the mechanic of letting exploding missiles take each other out.

Odd. I showed my laser pointer controlled multiplayer missle command at PyCon in March:

Posted source for it too...

Note that mine also does not have limited missiles, but it does have chain reactions.
