Details are not officially announced, but Condé Nast, which also owns Wired.com, has acquired Ars Technica. I love Wired.com and I love Ars Technica, so congrats to them both.

Ars is, without question, the best tech-oriented site on the web. Wired.com has been terrific recently as well.

Two great tastes that taste great together.

I wonder if they’re just going to let Ars do its own thing with the ownership change or whether they’ll try to merge Ars into the whole Wired blog network.

MichaelPortent, TechCrunch seems to think that they will be integrated into the Conde Nast family:

They, along with their 8 or so employees, will remain with the company as it is integrated into Wired Digital.

It couldn’t have been done by a better company, but I’m wary of anything that could change my absolute favorite site on the web. Any word on the price?
