It’s a scene any Best Buy patron has seen a million times before: three sassy soul sisters shaking their booties in an impromptu display of dancing prowess before the stereo speaker display, while a dorky, heavy set employee looks on, pathetically trying to look “hep.” But god bless the dorky, heavy set employee in this video, because after 40 seconds of indecision and lame bobbing, he just gets down, becoming one with the groove, and triumphantly wins high fives from all.
It’s an awesome sight, but as an ex Best Buy supervisor, I can’t help but furrow my brow in disapproval: this does not look like a man properly upselling an extended warranty. Leave the dancing to the customers on-the-clock, chuckles.
Best Buy Dance [YouTube]

Better a dancing guy than the guy who sold be a printer at Best Buy while eating candy.
even knowing *exactly* what was coming, I still LOL’d. What do you think the odds are that it was staged? Or is that the equivalent of yelling “Photoshopped!”?
I dare say anything negative about this post, else the comments will be turned off ala the Chinese government’s little brother, but this post is *loosely* gadget related at best, and super boring.

Qozmiq sticks and moves, folks!
Killjoy!
I think I saw this on the main Boing Boing page last week. Not trying to be a killjoy, just trying to make sure I’m not crazy.
Hajameemashiite!
@ #6…Exactly. But to have the BBG’ers tell it, they are two completely separate sites. I find that ridiculous. We are told to expect redundant posts on each. They *try* not to duplicate, but its *unavoidable*. They don’t bother to read each others ‘sites’, but all the readers do, obviously. My question is, why does any comment that is not overly positive about the astuteness of their posts receive such disdain, deletion, etc? I know this is now off topic, but Little Brother posts now do not allow comments, how rediculous is that? The people that nearly religiously read their site are being shunned instead of embraced.
This should be a community, but is treated like a Chinese Democracy.

#8&9 (try not to double-post, btw, it’s bad form) – I found that BB’s Wikipedia page gave a good background. Summary: used to be a zine, became a blog in early 00′s, disabled comments for a couple of years b/c of trolls, and only relatively recently re-enabled comments, and only then with Teresa as moderator.
Look at it this way: there’s a great critique method in place: email the individual who posted the entry, and I’m pretty sure John will get back to you. Imagine running a site for years and having people continue giving the same negative comments again and again. The conversations can be so wonderful here when people aren’t constantly defending things that, honestly, don’t need to be defended. Is it really a huge pain to see the same post twice? I didn’t see this the first time, and, as I said above, I LOL’d when I saw it today.
I apologize if this comes off harshly: BB doesn’t owe you anything, and the least you can do is be appreciative. That’s all.

Ah, I just re-read your post. And spent about 10 minutes trying to come up with an appropriate response to make you realize how much of a jerk you’re being, but then I realized that I’m spending way too much energy on you.
Just re-read the moderation policy if you have any questions.
Qozmiq, you may struggle to believe this, but most of the people who read BBG are not necessarily the same people who read BB proper. And of those who do read both sites? Most don’t pull the elastic of their panties three feet above their own shoulders when… gasp!… an occasional post becomes fodder for both BBG and the Mother Boing.
Anyway, you’ve apparently ordained yourself with the usual hysterical kerning of commenter martyrdom, judging by the way you’re confusing issues on BB (they don’t allow comments on some posts! They delete comments and disemvowel!) with non-issues on BBG (we don’t do any of that, because we’re just as happy to call you an idiot when you’re being one, like now). But hey, what about that guy’s dance! Awesome, right?
Ahhhh. I guess it time to only read the blogs that you all take your posts from…days and weeks later. Constructive criticism is just not allowed on this zineblogrehash. I used to love this site, but after seeing the way its viewers are treated over the last few weeks, well, you can rehash and admonish to your hearts content. I was simply voicing a concern and you call me an idiot. WTF? And your criticism means nothing coming from an ex-Bait and Switch Manager.
Hau ab.
One of these days, when you guys are trying to figure out which editorial widget to build next, can we get one that automatically flags constructive criticism, reasonably polite, and politically correct/incorrect?
John Brownlee @12, for a while there we had too many of them to call each one an idiot in a separate and distinct way.
It’s a puzzlement. Cory had announced in advance that he was going to be blogging about his book tour. Readers who’d repeatedly seen us disemvowel or delete comments that denounced LB entries would post denunciatory comments about LB entries, then be surprised when their comments lost their vowels or disappeared.
Here’s the best one: some readers were posting comments while not reading the comment threads, then being shocked by the reactions they got. To my mind, that’s like pulling into traffic without looking to see what’s coming, then getting indignant because you were honked at by a driver who had to swerve to avoid you.
Common sense: always worth cultivating.
I blame Marky Mark.
