Monster Cables is in the habit of aggressing other companies that use the name “Monster,” claiming that consumers may resultantly be confused between its cables and, say, a miniature golf course. Monster, like some others, excuses its misbehaviour as an unavoidable consequence of “defend it or lose it” trademark law. Here at Boeing Boeing, we think that’s nonsense, but I digress: the purpose of this missive is to direct you to Gizmodo’s compendium of companies using the name “Monster,” which, according to the cable company’s wheedling, it is now obliged to launch legal claims against.
The list includes a video game, a motorcycle, a muppet and a God. I’d say Noel has his work cut out for him.
A Monster List of Things Monster Cable Will Soon Sue [Gizmodo]

There are few companies that I loath more than Monster Cables. It’s a hoax product that’s marked up 500% and marketed to rich suckers. that being said, I was forced into buying one of their (cheaper) cables, and darnit if that EZ open perforated blister pack isn’t a nice idea.
I hate them even more for liking their packaging now. mainly because they’ll sue any other company if they try and use the idea, keeping the great majority of blister packaging out there unopenable.
I have seen so many scientific evaluations of Monster and other “boutique” cables. They are a rip off. They are expensive. That is the only difference between Monster cables and other high quality cables.
Save your money don’t buy Monster cables.
The fact that they want to own the word Monster just makes them worse.
Of course Apple is now trying to say that they own the solar power electronic device with their goofy patent application for the solar I-Phone. Yeah right. Solar powered electronics ,like radios, date back to the late 50s.
Big companies ALL suck. They always get arrogant, overpriced and end up resting on their laurels.
Don’t forget the city of Monster in the Netherlands. Which is why Europe’s biggest job board is called Monsterboard in the Netherlands and just plain Monster everywhere else – the domain monster.nl was automatically assigned to the city.
Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see a certain job-hunting website on the list…
