Learn to meet the gaze of a woman...via DVD

Avex's latest DVD is Miteru dake, or Just Looking, in which a series of 50 women stare directly into the camera for 96 minutes. By looking the women in the eye, shy viewers will become more comfortable speaking to women in real life. Call me crazy, but there might be something to it.

Took about three seconds before my gaze went a little south and I started too feel bad about it...then I remembered it's a video.

I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps that's also part of the training? Resistance to downward glances? :D

As a kid I had a huge problem making eye contact. One of my teachers recommended I watch the news and stare right into the anchor's eyes. My mom thought it was crazy, but it actually worked! To a kid, or perhaps an under-socialized adult, making eye contact with face on a screen could be a good step.

To this day I get a weird smile when I see Dan Rather. :)

just a survey ,but is there any males that don't instinctively try to get a quick downward glance?
I find that near impossible , like ignoring the proverbial elephant in the room. if so, how do u manage to not do it. I'm guessing it's not from looking at this vid on youtube.

I think Cabbotage might be on to something. The purpose of the clip seems to be re-training not only for the shy but for the pervy: otherwise, why would they frame the image so that the actress's eyes were above center, or film so much of her below the shoulders?

#4: I can do it (and I'm straight, for the record). It helps that I find intellegence, eyes and hair among the most attractive things on a woman. Ugh that came out kinda creepy. Anyway, I have enough patience to know that if I stare here down (Alpha male baby! - Brucie) she'll look away first and then I can take a peek if I choose.

I didn't even think of the "looking southward" aspect that this may help with, I really just took it as an aid for shy people. I find it kind of amazing that men forget that women aren't infallible, perfect beings, and have flaws and insecurities just like the men do. Relax, we're all just humans.

@ #6:

Your comment reminded me of the clip from the British sitcom Green Wing where Guy lists his "top 5 qualities in a woman."

Enjoy:

#7: Ok, that was pretty funny. And if taken seriously it just shows how weird people's tastes can be.

And wow, did I really misspell intelligence in my earlier comment? How stupid do I feel? Maybe that's why I'm single again...

Translation of what she's saying at the very end of the clip:

"I can see you looking at my rack... knock it off!" :)

If you stare into their eyes long enough, you might find yourself falling in love with them.

Maybe it's really a marketing scheme for a mail-order bride company.

I'd put this on the walmart WALL-o-TVs

As far as I can tell, she says ”こぼれてるよ!” (koboreteru yo) at the end, which seems to mean, "It's spilling over!" Who knows what she's talking about...

"... by looking them in the eyes ..."

Eyes?

They have eyes?

I think it was a pair of coconuts, not an elephant. The training film for those attracted to males would be the one with the elephant.
