Retro Thing points out this incredible Flickr gallery of street legal bumper cars, retro-fitted with 750cc Kawasaki engines by a San Diego grease-monkey for the delight of his grandkids. Absolutely wonderful. I want one. In my home town of Berlin, these would be considered muscle cars compared to the ubiquitous Smart, and I would drive them before my super-charged American bumper car like runtling swine.
