Street-legal bumper cars

Retro Thing points out this incredible Flickr gallery of street legal bumper cars, retro-fitted with 750cc Kawasaki engines by a San Diego grease-monkey for the delight of his grandkids. Absolutely wonderful. I want one. In my home town of Berlin, these would be considered muscle cars compared to the ubiquitous Smart, and I would drive them before my super-charged American bumper car like runtling swine. What excites me is the prospect of actually bumping the idiot driver who just cut me off!

The owner of those cars shows up most weeks to “Cruisin’ Grand,” the Friday Evening Cruise Night in Escondido, Ca., based around the intersection of Grand & Broadway. Be sure to check out the Cacklefest where Hot Rods & top fuel Dragsters are left to “Cackle” at idle.

I’d love to try one of these out!

    Very nicely done!
