Remote Buddy sweeps away need for universal remote.

Why buy a decent universal remote control when you can just spend $60 on a plastic caddy to hold the ones you already have? From the blurb:

"Modern design adds a futuristic touch to any decor"

Does Logitech make a cup holder? No, sirs, it does not!

It not only coddles your remotes, you can use the buttons to find them when they're lost! laziness rules!

Although it lacks the cup holder (neat!) I still swear by my Harmony 880.

There was something similar to this on an episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond". Except that it was made of wood, instead of the cup holder it had a little slot to hold your TV Guide. It had a cooler name too: The Remote Boat. :)

Waste of plastic.

I just love the idea of a cup holder being present on something that must itself be placed upon an item of furniture already capable of holding a cup.

The purpose of this object is to transport more plastic from China to American landfills and dollar stores, the combined weight of which keeps our great nation from flying off into space.

I still don't understand what the buttons are for. Are you projecting intent to the remotes? Be warned, remote three, for I am about to select you. Prepare thyself!

and isn't remote three, in this photo, a universal remote? seems to defeat the whole purpose...

The buttons are for locating the remote controls when you lose them: it comes with some adhesive RF beepers.

Ah, but Isaac, it's a shitty universal remote.

Yeah, I'm with you Enochrewt. I'd have to buy an expansion pack or something for all the remotes around here. This could work for Wiimotes, however...

I can already see this boxed, and untouched at local Salvation Army/Goodwill/Saint Vincent DePaul stores nationwide.

Back in the day, we didn't have universal remotes, we just duck taped and rubber-banded them all to a short piece of 2 X 4.
