iPhone waiters-in-line hope for world record

thewhofarm-5.jpgThere's already a camp of eager young folks outside Apple's 5th Avenue store in New York, waiting to snap up the upgraded iPhones to be sold in but a few days. If it seems a pointless exercise — chances are you'll be able to stroll in and grab one whenever — know that the quintet is hoping to break the world record for waiting in line.

Cult of Mac's dry response: "It’s not clear what effect the group’s affinity for Apple may have on the company’s efforts to gain acceptance with Enterprise users."

Who would wait...? [Fortune via Cult of Mac]

don't some of the people waiting for Krispy Kreme openings have these guys beaten by several days?

IIRC the first customer at a krispy kreme gets a dozen free a week for a year or something, so at least they get something out of the deal...
