Fight aliens and fly spaceships on your duvet with LED sci-fi blanket

And I thought my threadbare Last Starfighter sheets were pretty cool. The Space Story duvet cover uses flashing LEDs and the tintinnabulations of tiny UFOs to get your kids excited about bed time. Tuck them in at night and flip on the “story mode” switch: the blanket will then act out a two-minute adventure of rocket ships hurtling through the plasmic brine of space and astronauts surfing the rings of Saturn… the perfect thing to fire up the imagination before zooming off to slumberland for ray gun battles with oneiric extraterrestrials.

All this bedtime excitement is expensive, of course: the Space Story will cost you $119, and that’s just for a kid’s bed. Still, I honestly think I’d probably pay that if they made them suitable for a king’s size. A blanket that does a two minute countdown to blast off has obvious applications for any swinging, sci-fi adult.
