ReadyBot cleans kitchens to swank 50s soundtrack
Charlie Sorrel has a great little post over at Gadget Lab about the ReadyBot, which he describes as "the true realization of that 1950s dream, the robot housemaid, and has everything that was predicted in that forward-looking and yet quaintly conservative age. Everything, that is, except the gingham apron and pointy, sweater-girl brassiere."
In truth, the ReadyBot seems like a slow, lazy and inefficient housekeeper: the sort who every single day takes twenty minutes to wash a single plate, all the while charging you by the hour, until you ultimately snap and paste her one, then let her go in an pecuniary disgorgement of hush money.
Still, a step in the right direction for misogyny through futurism, don't you think? A prototype of the cooking, cleaning, baby-making machine the 1950s promised us. But maybe prioritize the baby-making algorithm already, roboticists.
