    Q: How could you recognize an IBM service technician?
    A: Because when he took off his blue suit coat, his sleeves were already rolled up.

    Culture of the times. To sell to businessmen, you had to look like, and sound like, a businessman. The days of being able to sell technology because you look and sound like a technologist were far in the future.

    Square? Maybe. But on the other hand, wouldn’t you _rather_ have a salesman who talks about what the product can actually do for you than about the buzzwords?
