Ah, but do you get to play your favorite station's jingle as a wakeup alarm like this one for Tokyo's Yamanote line.
Note that I'm pretty sure Engadget is wrong about the radio train schedule thing since Yamanote trains come around every two and a half minutes. Japanese may be anal about time, but not that anal. But from watching so many people sleep on the train I'm certain that many of them are conditioned to wake up when they hear their home stations platform jingle.
