MSI’s Wind quickly went from the darling of netbooks to the most loathed floozy this side of the Eee. The MSI Wind’s initial specs were great, but then they cut the 6-cell battery to a 3, claiming industry-wide battery shortages. And when the 6 cell batteries were finally released? MSI jacked the price way up.
Unwilling to pay an absurd premium for what was promised to begin with, a plucky MSI Wind forums user crafted himself an amazing 9-cell, 7400mAh battery, capable of giving the Wind over 8 hours of juice. In the pictures, it looks a bit like ACME brand dynamite duct taped to the back of a netbook, but the homebrew battery’s creator intends on creating a form-fitting fiberglass enclosure, and even sell them to fellow Wind owners.

TSA approved
@latente…exactly. I would love to be in line right behind this person as they try to explain to the TSA why their Wind battery looks like Dynamite. Good luck with that one.
I just got my 6 cell wind last night (even though it’s not “out” yet in Canada)
Paid the original non-battery-shorage-pricejack cost too.
Any Wind users care to comment on how happy you are/aren’t with the product (beyond the obvious comment that the battery life is so bad you’ll make your laptop look like cartoon dynamite to use it longer).
my 6 cell’s battery life is great (>5 hours) and im happy with the unit though its only been 24 hours of use so far.
I found out the high quality and cheap 6 cell and 9 cell battery.
