Vaio Z570 features hybrid Intel / NVIDIA graphics

sony-vaio-z-series-small-2.jpgSony's new Vaio Z570 laptop is certainly luxury: a 13-incher with an Intel P9500 Centrino 2 (2.53GHz) processor that sucks a meager 25 watts, built in EVDON and 802.11a/b/g/n wireless, 3GBs of DDR3 memory. It weighs only 3 pounds and is only an inch thick.

But what's really interesting is the Z570's "Hybrid Graphics." Essentially, when the laptop is plugged in, you get an NVIDIA powerhouse chipset. Unplug your laptop, though, and the Z570 effortlessly shifts to a more meager, power-conscious Intel 4500 integrated graphics chipset.

The Z570 will be available later this summer for $2,249. If you want a beefier model, you can get an extra gig of RAM and a BluRay Combo DVD+RW Optical Drive for $3,399.

It is just me, or are most new laptops using Macbook-styled keyboards?
