New Sony Cyber-shots cut a thin profile
Sony's DSC-T77 Cyber-shot camera is what you'd imagine it is: a pocket models with limitations, good for concealed-carry but nothing to drag DSLR fans out of bed for. But look at the design — they're wafer thin, offered in nice colors, and are made to look simple without being ostentatiously minimalist.
The T77 has a 10 megapixel sensor, 3-inch touch-panel display, up to ISO 3200 and in-camera image management. There is a 4x optical zoom lens, image stabilization and fancy scene completion features like automatic closed-eye repair and smile detection. Fifteen millimeters thick (0.59 inches), It comes in black, silver, green, pink and brown.
The T700 is the same, but adds 4GB of internal storage and a larger 3.5" high-res display, which will make that in-cam editing easier. It comes in black, silver, antique white, pink and red. Its a bit thicker, too, at 16.4mm (0.65 inches).
They'll be out in September, price TBD.
