Microsoft has government in mind with its new Zunes, crafted specifically for the Republican and Democratic party conventions taking place this week and next. It’s hard not to imagine the humor potential of making similarly precious designs for other political parties.

it might just be me, but it seems like the Dems would be more like iPod users to the Reps Zuners.
#1: I guess we just have to wait patiently for Apple and Microsoft to co-opt our one-or-the-other political parties.
Ah, the vague semblance of choice.

ORLY?!
That elephant still looks like road kill.

I’d say that the green tree design reflects several popular trends in graphic design, hence hip and sleek. It’s a far cry from the exploding font of patriotism that is the Republican design. Where the Republican design is clearly meant only for Republicans, I can easily see the green-tree packaging of the Democrats sitting on a store shelf.

Do you know any communists? Anyone in CPUSA? Don’t mean to threadjack, but it has to be mentioned that American Communists are radically different than say Chinese or Russian.
Funny that the Democrat one looks hip and sleek, with stylish graphic design, while the Republican one just has a lot of stars and red, white, and blue on it.
I’m not sure that many other political parties would use the Zune. Seems to me that Democrats, Republicans, and Communists are the only ones who would be okay with the idea of a device that does so much to tell you what you can and can’t do with music that you have already paid for.
Of course, in the case of Communists, you wouldn’t have paid for the music, it would be State-issued, and thoroughly sanitized.
The Republican one should be brown.
