Darth 64: Nintendo 64 meets an old Laser Doodle

I love the pluck and moxie of the Internet’s constabulary of modders who deign to cram the bloated guts of a long-dead console into the home built chassis of a portable, but it’s always the lines that get me: ergonomic monstrosities cut from fiber board with lines and corners sharp enough to slice open the fleshy web between thumb and forefinger.

Jon Jandran tackled the problem with a snazzy little solution: he gutted an old Laser Doodle machine, painted it black and installed a Nintendo 64 inside. The resulting portable: the Darth 64. It’s nice to see a Ben Heck style portable mod you can’t slice open a jugular with.
