LG Lotus: high-tech compact for fashionable men
LG's Lotus has the brutal plastic look of something by PSION from the 1980s, but shrunken into an unusual squared-off flip-phone's form. Designed by Christian Siriano, it's going to be on show at the New York City Fashion Week and hits Sprint in October, in purple or black. The blurb hints at an Xperia X1-style home screen.
Sexy it is, though the fashion pretensions in LG's press release amuse. Specifications are not bad, either, with 12GB of storage through microSD, a video-recording 2mp camera and Rev. A internet.

Looks nice... not why it's specifically for fashionable men though.
Yeah, I always pick up my electronics at fashion week. Although I don't seem to get many babes wearing the clothes I buy at Radio Shack and Circuit City.
Siriano designed the scarf, not the phone.
Shame. I'd love to see a Siriano phone.
Is this a folding Moto Q?
That's kind of cool.
I know every time my Samsung Glyde becomes unlocked and does random stuff in my pocket I grow more and more anticipatory toward my next phone.
This reminds me of a fat LG VX8600 with a qwerty.
Which is to say I'd carry this if it was pocket comfortable.
No girls allowed! and as usual, transgendered people are on their own.
I thought the 12GB microSD cards were just a "prototype" and that the market available cards will be 16GB... and with prices quoted around $60 each for release in October.Actually, a scarf with a little pocket or two is a great idea!
PSIONs weren't brutal; they were beautiful, particularly considering what you could do with them at the time: a handheld, battery-powered computer with a built-in "powerful" programming language *AND* internal EPROM reader/writer.
I was able to bundle the PSION, which I could order just-in-time, with my software, which I could securely burn into an EPROM, and it was a very neat, afforable portable solution.
I have a lg rumor, which I dig quite a bit, but this is nice. I don't really need internet on the go, just texting and a good solid phone will do me. This is a pretty little thing. CNET has pics of the purple "fancy lad" model

A phone like that would be awesome, but I really want roughly that form factor, but I want it to be tough enough that I can put it in my hip pocket and forget about the thing until I want to make a call or check email, etc. I think the gadget industry needs to go through a serious ruggedizing phase.
Designed for fashionable men... with teeeny fingers.
