If your time-travelling hunting expeditions have netted you a fortune in apatosaurus ambergris, feel free to pick up one of these ornamental “Unnatural Selector Ray-Blunderbuses” from none other than Weta Workshop, New Zealand’s most famous prop house. They’re only making 50 — and the least expensive number edition is $4,500. Everything works…except the ray.

These were on display at San Diego Comic Con, beautiful things. Heavy, solid, and most surprising, functional*!

Wow that is really stupid!
@#2Anon: Almost as stupid as your comment*!
*nowhere near as stupid as your comment.
They’d be even better with a amplifier and sound chip playing the “heat ray” effect from the 1953 War Of The Worlds movie.
Talk about a dream job – when you’re not making props for big budget Hollywood movies, you can do your own thing and sell a couple to pay the days wages.
