Matrix Trilogy comes in neat toy Nebuchadnezzar

Up until now, "Why would anyone want to own all three films in the Matrix trilogy?" has been one of those unanswerable questions like "what happens to you after you die?" best puzzled over by absinth-sotted philosophers. The first film is fantastic: the second and third like having two perverted sadomasochists crouch over your face and unspool an engorged colon's worth of celluloid crap into your eyes, the chunky pseudo-philosophy only partially digested, like peanuts. No one not being subjected to the Ludovico Technique should willingly watch them more than once.

Here's the only sensible answer: Warner Brothers' Japanese release of the Ultimate Matrix Collection comes in a swank recreation of the steampunkish Nebuchadnezzar. Tempting for a moment, but $375!

Yahknow, I waz jahst tinking de udder day, WHY is it I don't own all three Matrix movies? Specifically, I just don't know. But those Jappyknees make a neat collectible movie holder there dontchaknow.

Give me a well packaged collectors edition of the first Matrix in Blu-Ray + DVD and I'll snap that up in an instant. I own The Matrix on both DVD and VHS (yes... VHS), and still think its one of the the best films of the 90's. Its always amazes me how the Wachowski brothers could screw over what could have been a gold mine for them in sequels, spin offs, merchandising and the like.

Everything after the first film was absolute drivel and no body has given a monkies about the film in years. Why make this pointless piece of plastic? Oh yeah, because there are people out there who are dumb enough to buy it.

I really enjoyed the first but disliked the other two, My only beef is that the movie went mainstream. Kind of like Lord Of the Rings, They ruined the entire trilogy. I guess once something is enjoyed by everyone and was something I liked I than hate it.
