German netbook blog EeePCNews has photographs of a prototype 9-cell battery that they claim will be released in November, juicing an MSI Wind or Medion Akoya for up to 10 hours.
It’s chunky, no doubt, but this pushes the MSI Wind back into the game for the prize of being my long delayed first netbook purchase.

I love my netbook!
Just get one already.
Netbooks are cool at the moment but I’d particularly like a device with quick boot/ instant wake up which I only have to charge every couple of days, which is what I think when I see a 10 hour battery life.
If it’s wireless in everything but power then it’s really a portable device. I’m writing this on a laptop right now and it’s plugged into the wall because I was using it outside today and I’m sitting at a desk which isn’t really portable.
@2 “quick boot, instant wake up, charge every couple of days, 10+ hour battery life?”
Try any PalmOS device
For my jobs-marketing and writing, the netbook I prefer should have over 10 hours battery life, 10 inches in screen size, 3G slot built in, less than 1.5kg in weight, 120~169G of hard drive and price not more than US$700. I can found MSI Wind U120H can fulfill my needs as above except the price. People said that the price of this netbook will be more expensive due to the 9-cell battery. If 9-cell battery increase its price and the battery also increase its weight, It will not my ideal netbook again. The other similar netbook seems as BenQ Joybook Lite U101. It has provided HSUPA/3.75G and 6-cell battery/4-8 hours. Price is around US$700-US$800. ( email: pkm_my@yahoo.com )
