That’s funny… I use off-brand iPod socks to protect my phone. I haven’t managed to break or even scratch mine yet, after a year.
At least two females I know use actual socks for their cameras so other stuff in their purses doesn’t scratch the screens. That’s a whole ‘nother market that licenses can be applied to.
