Man, that's only a step or two away from Dvorak realizing that ALL of the things he says are meaningless, whether taken in context of the grand scheme of things or not.
Complaining that people discuss phones "as if it were a great piece of literature to be deconstructed." Well, how many man-hours go into a phone versus a book?
;-)
That is the definition of an epiphany.
Bravo John, you've taken a bold first step.
Whatever. I like John, he's seen a lot of tech come and go, and he doesn't get wound up like a fanboy. TWIT wouldn't be as good w/o him as a counter balance.
He is charming on TWIT. Or at least he was when I used to listen to it. (I'm off podcasts for no particular reason lately.) But he's often horribly, laughably misguided — and worse, he often takes the contrary position just because he seems to feel that it's worthwhile so long as it perpetuates discussion. That's not dialectic, though. That's sophistry.
You don't say. Next revelation: Apple, not so beleaguered after all.
'course, he totally did call the Apple switch to Intel. I guess he just said it for long enough that it finally came true.
