Video: Gradius a la Little Big Planet

A Japanese savant has recreated the original first level of side-scrolling classic Gradius in Little Big Planet. A crafty feat — the little enemies on puppet sticks and the clacking laser planks just slay me.

Because some people really do have too much free time...

There must be a pretty big mass below the camera level to cause the laser beams to behave ballistically.

Ohh, say it ain't so about how off you are on this - - clearly the Flash Gordon style spaceships with their billowy, cottony exhaust are the high point of this game. Brilliant!

I can't imaging the work that has gone into this and other projects by the same author.

I found his interpretation of Tetris in the related videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8THIEAdlpk

Also very impressive and looks like a lot of fun.

Gosh. Could that be why it's named "Little Big Planet?" A planet-sized mass in a little package?
