Screw-on bottle cap tripod almost useless, but kind of neat

This $10 screw-on bottle cap will allow you to mount any camera to the top of a bottle, transforming it into a makeshift tripod. Needless to say, you’ll want to make sure there’s enough liquid in the bottle you’re screwing it onto before attaching your expensive digicam.

What, no screw bottle wine joke?

Of course you could take your own bottle cap, drill a hole in it, and fit it with an appropriate sized bolt and nuts… but maybe it’s worth $8 in labor and $1 for the thumb-nut at the top.

Gotta agree, though, that the question is “why”. Where would one use this rather than a $6 folding mini-tripod?

    Hey, what’s with the floccinaucinihilipilification?

    Yes, I am stupid.

He posted the above DIY link the day after.

I made one, and it really comes in handy when you’re wandering around a Theme Park in the hot sun, Trapped on Vacation with nothing but a water bottle and a camera. One thing to note though is that it only works with a point and shoot because of weight restrictions. I abandoned the idea when I upgraded to a DSLR.
