Why is an album by a manufactured Mormon boy band classified as a "tech deal"?

I just posted it to bother you, acb.

Aren't all bands "manufactured?" It's not like they are birthed fully formed and playing instruments.

Maybe I'm a tool, but I like most of their new album.

@3: True, but The Killers are an order of magnitude more fake than most. They're faux-British-new-wave, faux-indie and faux-edgy, writing the sorts of songs that look like caricatures of British new-wave indie as seen from Utah, with a carefully measured pinch of transgressivism; a hint of sexual ambiguity here (just a hint; the Mormons don't go in for too much gender-bending), a reference to someone doing cocaine (and going crazy; must have a moral), never enough to actually dent their clean-living image. They're like NKOTB and Amy Grant rolled into one.

Unfortunately the OfficeMax deal (Slickdeals) was a come-on. Friend ordered this and was just informed that the deal was limited to stock on hand or some such nonsense. Anyway after a $300+ hold on his account for a couple of days he got his deal John letter today.

I also ordered the $300 OfficeMax media server, with the added bonus of a $30 coupon I had on hand. Sadly, the order was canceled with the reason being they do not have the stock to fill it. Ahh well, it would have been an excellent deal.
