Smut Wallpaper Universe removed from AppStore
Apple removed another program from the AppStore over the weekend: Wallpaper Universe is the latest for the chop.
And so the 'net embarsk on yet another round of the exact same hand-wringing over Apple's policies. Why do people not understand that you are working for Apple when you develop for the iPhone? It's not even trying to trick people into thinking the ecosystem is open, or that devs aren't unpaid work-made-for-hire: Apple's right to make arbitrary and inscrutable decisions is right there in the contract you sign!
This is not an argument for Apple's shiny golden godhood, but for "If you don't like it, don't do it."

...This is one of the reasons I don't buy anything from (cr)Apple. I don't want some retarded marketing g00n telling me what I can and cannot do with the hardware I've purchased. I buy it, I own it, and I'll do what I fucking well please with it. And that goes triple for whatever phone I buy.
...Every iPhone app designer who's had their apps either rejected or later deactivated needs to band together and file a class action suit against (cr)Apple. You get enough bad publicity that it hurts sales and exposes the company for what it really is - a bunch of schmucks pretending to be professionals - then the sooner we'll see crap like this come to a screeching halt.

The "hand-wringing" must continue until the public perception of Apple is congruent with the reality that is Apple.
Although your characterization as "work-made-for-hire" is an outright falsehood. It is your work, your investment in time and money, and your risk that it suddenly become worthless at their whim.
