Boast love of obsolete technology with T-shirt

33rpm.jpg
To be proud of one's status as a has-been is a smug pleasure we should all look forward to. Signals' T-Shirt, "Traveling 33 RPM in an iPod world," could even be purchased now and then stored until about 2040. Finally worn, it will by that time be completely baffling to everyone, even oneself.

"Traveling celluloid cylinders in a punchcard world," anyone?

Hehe, it's a Neo Retro Crossover Pullover... reminds me of the black T-shirts I made up in Zazzle before the election that say "Tesla for President '08" !

33 rpm would also make you off a bit in the world of 33 and a third rpm world. The shirt was probably designed by a person who had only seen records in a picture...

Of course, it should read, "Traveling 33 1/3 RPM..."

If yer gonna be a cranky old analog geek, get yer facts straight! ;)

Of course, it should read, "Traveling 78 RPM..."

If yer gonna be a cranky old analog geek, at least be really old!

It doesn't make sense. 33rpm is (kind of) a speed, while an iPod is an object. Is it a modern version of an older saying? Are iPods "fast"? I suppose the hard disk drive versions go at 4800rpm or whatever, but still.

Bloody Signals.

I should do one up on Cafepress that says something like, "I've got my entire record collection with me right now, retro-poseur. You?" I missed out on the T-shirt that Diesel Sweeties creator (and Boing Boing commenter rstevens did that showed an iPod and said "I had one before they were cool" or some such.
