Lunchbots, created by a loving father to save the (mid)day

lunchbots.jpg

For the past couple of weeks Justin has been drawing a different "Lunchbot" on his wife and son's lunch sacks each day. He warns: "This is what happens to underemployed dads/husbands who mostly work from home. Clever creativity or cautionary tale?"

Justin is now officially this blog's dad. Thanks, Dad.

Geez, now I'm just sad that I don't have anyone to send me off to school with lovely illustrated lunchbags.

Though for the next two weeks, I student teach a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds who give me artwork on a regular basis, which is pretty awesome.

This guy has been doing the same thing since September. You can watch his art get more elaborate as he goes.

Yeah, Thanks Dad. What a beautiful thing to do for your family. Wish I had a Dad like that! I may have to adopt his blog and pretend!

my uncle did this for my cousins, and each bag got put on a wall. eventually it was a pretty big collection. I wish I could do that for my kids!

You can tell his children haven't reached their teens yet. By the time we've dragged the complaining monsters physically from their beds no one feels like making little drawings for them!

Can he be my dad, too? I'll mow the lawn, no whining.

When people finally figure out that my creative directorhood has been built on a foundation of Corey's books, monster movies, and comics - and I've been blackballed by interactive professionals everywhere who are sick of my KISS action figures and my Schwartzenegger film quotes - I'll embrace the chance to be a stay at home dad and create brown bag masterpieces.
Really, really, cool.
