Fans of Belkin's Nostromo series of single-handed gaming keyboard pads have a new toy: Logitech's own G13, which has an LCD display, thumbhat, 22 keys, 8 configurable buttons, and was designed by Darth Vader's tailor.

I used to use a Nostromo to "near-automate" grinding related tasks in Star Wars Galaxies. That thing saved my wrist and got the job done. Gonna have to pick up one of these and try it out.

Reminds me of a Bill Hicks skit about the Iraq war (the first one)

(Hillbilly voices) What's G-12 do, Tommy? See, it says here it destroys everything but the fillings in their teeth, helps us pay for the war effort. Well, fuck, pull that one up! Pull up G-12, please. SHOOP. BOOM! Cool, what's G-13 do? Big Sears weapons catalogue. 'Weapons, for all occasions!' You know.

Looks cool, except it seems to only cater to right-handed people in regards to the placement of the analog stick, err thumb hat.

Scratch that, I mean left-handed. I don't think I can do precision movement with my left thumb.

@enochrewt: Actually, it's the opposite: it's for righties; the left analog stick is used for gross movement moreso than fine detail, like WASD movement VS piloting a jet. Imagine playing an RTS with this: your left hand goes on this (with the stick controlling camera panning), while your right hand goes on the mouse, hence, it's a righties layout.

I'm looking forward to this, as the screen might be nice to give you an onscreen guide to what you set your keys to. I LOVE the crap out of my Nostromo n52, which has yet to be rivaled, and still has some better features than its successor, the n52TE. This also looks like it has enough keys to do a one-handed keyboard layout, which the Nostromo can't do.

I just pray this supports shift states.

I want it, but I'm not even going to bother trying to get my girlfriend to consider it as a gift. She has like level 80 patience by now, and I'm not a new level cap is coming soon. I probably won't stoop to feebly justifying buying it myself for at least a couple months. So, nerd not-so-secret Santa anyone? It's the spirit of the holidays! Level up your generosity!
