Every legit giveaway I have ever seen or participated in includes an option to enter WITHOUT purchasing the product. They will also include language in the Official Rules that “NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE CHANCES OF WINNING.”

However, this contest appears that it could be breaking federal lottery laws: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweepstakes#Sweepstakes_in_the_United_States

    Uhh-ohh!

I still don’t understand having a separate device/service plan for everything unless you’re a complete luddite.

have a home phone? (cheap phone + $25-30/mo)

have a cell phone? (free phone – at least $40/mo unless prepaid)

    want e-mail on the go? (100 device + 20/mo)

Might as well ditch the landline, and just get a cell with unlimited data. I pay 70/mo for unlimited data and 400 minutes (with like 2,500 nights and weekends) – and hell, I can even tether my laptop (as long as I don’t TOO much and get the hammer)

So essentially I pay about $200 for the device, and then SAVE money every month.

    2 years old way = ~$ 2300
    2 years new way = ~$ 1880

So you pay less, and get more… amazing what simple math can tell you. Of course you could configure it differently and get results from all over the place, but I was just imagining what the average person had, take away the landline and the “new” way is more expensive by a few hundred, but totally worth the added benefits IMHO.

Peek is for people who don’t want smartphones or contracts.

    it says in the rules,

“No purchase necessary – please call (347) 284-1971 and leave us a message stating why you think Peek is the perfect present this year. Same day entry.”

    I just called them myself

theawesomerobot, sometimes cost isn’t the most important factor. For some people, the Peek is superior to a smart phone. It’s easier to use, for sure, and has a better keyboard than most.

  6. bardfinn says:

Peek is also for people who – such as myself – are far more comfortable in typing out our communiques than stuttering them into a condenser mic to be compressed haphazardly.

I have Asperger’s, stutter, have a soft voice, and speak in a frequency range that seems to have been declared to be solely the province of static by consensus of some DSP architects. I hate phone calls, and I hate in-person talking. The Peek is for me, and is my present to myself for the Holidays this year – so my wife can email me whenever, wherever.
