DAMN you for bringing back the memories of endless taunts (?)...yes, my name is Zack, and yes dammit, I was (and occasionally still am) a lego maniac.

I grew up without a TV so only saw this rarely, but you can bet I heard it all over school.

When I was a kid I actually wanted to have my name changed to Zack because I thought this kid was so cool. But now, he seems pretty dorky. Just shows you how dorky -I- was back then...

Somewhere in my parents' garage rests a trove of VHS tapes of Gumby episodes taped off channel 9 circa my kindergarten years.

It would be amusing to see some of the episodes, but much more so to revisit the material in between them.

It turns out the lyrics wafting thru my head all these years are primarily from version 2 of this spot. ("Cosmic fleet to Mars" etc.)

I always felt that maybe these commercials sounded better in Dutch. And there's no way that I'm gonna hit play on that one, just thinking about it has it resonating around in the giant empty space that is the inside of my skull.

We have a version of this one our homemade tape of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. Except it shows how extreme of a LEGO maniac Zack is because he plays LEGOS all night, to the light of flashlight! At least I think that's it, I might be confusing it with a coca cola santa commercial. Classic, either way. I watch the video for the commercials now just as much as for Rudolph!

I too am Zack and had to deal with this Jingle on a daily basis.
Zack rhymes equally as well with.
Pyromaniac
Nymphomaniac
Kleptomaniac
Megalomaniac
Big Mac in a Sack
Crack in his back
etc...

And so it went until I was in Middle School.

I enjoyed a few years of peace until Zack Morris came along and because he never really succeeded in landing Kelly Kapowski I never stopped hearing about it.. Damn you Zack Morris.
