A storage medium for the 21st century: 5.25-inch fluffy disks
Hand-sewn by Jocelyn Paige Kelly of San Jose, these fluffy disks don't hold any bytes, but do protect your desktop from coffee rings. They're $28 a set, and also offered in compact form as tree ornaments.
The set comes with a wonderfully sturdy and repurposed Minikas-Ette Library Case to store and display your coasters. The case comes in black, grey, yellow, red, blue and green. The majority of the felt used to make this unique coaster is EcoSpun felt. I favor EcoSpun felt because it's made from recycled plastic bottles. The inner gray portion is a regular synthetic felt and includes a used CD that I've stitched inside in order to make the coaster more durable.

Excellent!!
Who the fuck would pay $28 for this crap?
cool people?
people who can't make it themselves. ch. looks simple enough to sew them, you'd have to find the case though
This is really neat! The plush adds a whole new level to the retro floppy disk design. Maybe in the future computers really will be made out of felt.
Real 5.25" diskettes make the perfect optical disc sleeves.
$28 isn't too bad for something handmade. Makes a nice conversation starter, I would think.
$28 for original, handmade products is a great deal. How many people spend $20 - $30 anyway for crappy gifts? If you are going to get something for someone (or yourself even!); why not get somthing nice and original? It's nice to see creative people like Ms. Kelly offering an environmentally repsonsible alternative to lead painted, melamine infused products. I'd like to see more!
