Sewing goes HD with the QuattroT 6000D

Incredibly neat: Brother’s new QuattroT 6000D sewing machine casts the sewing platform in LED light, while a bird’s eye, zoomed-in view of the needle is displayed in high definition on the installed screen. Perfect for precision stitching. No price yet, I’m afraid, but it’s interesting to watch technology come to the sewing room stitch horse after all these years.

Holy shit. That’s awesome. I’ll see if I can get a review unit and have Carmela try it out.

I’ve never even used a sewing machine myself, but I’ve heard those who do claim that in the last hundred years or so, they’ve mostly just become needlessly more complicated, more breakable, and harder for the user to maintain himself. Not sure why that’s coming to mind now.

#2: What, you don’t want to have to go over to grandmama’s house and reinstall the network drivers in her sewing machine?

  4. TheMatt says:

From what I’ve heard, most places are charging $9000 for it.

I don’t even sew, and I want one. Just to play around with.

oooh just add colored ink and this is a new tattoo machine that can be sold as a franchise business!

  6. Anonymous says:

No price on it yet, but they are offering financing for 36 months…

I DO sew – I make custom clothing and costumes, and all I have to say is PUULLLLEEEEZE! What a ridiculous, unnecessary, and expensive gimmick! Way to bring wasteful techno-consumerism to the arts of cloth!
